Am I Where I Belong?

Am I Where I Belong?

"For once, for once, for once, I get the feeling that I'm right where I belong."
~Fun, Why Am I the One?
There is a tragic irony in this line from the song, Why Am I the One?
The people who are betrayed in life (yes, some are betrayed more than others) are often left to pick up the pieces, having had someone important do them over.
Now, there is something dramatically disempowering in being the victim. And even though we will, from time to time, be the victim it pays us not to venture their too much in our minds. Wallowing is no good at any time, really, though we are to be forgiven for venturing down a track with no good end, ever.
There is the perfection of truth in this fact: God has us at all times in a position where we are right where we belong. And besides feeling that God is awful to place us in the midst of horrendous suffering, we can begin to entertain the purpose in all things that occur to us - for, in all things there is learning potential; a purpose.
TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PRESENT LOCALE OF LIFE
Where we are is God's business.
It is always God's business as to where, exactly, we are in this life; where we have been placed, by his divine will. Why we have been placed there is truly none of our business, though when we are apt to think of ourselves as gods, we would insist on knowing why.
Why is irrelevant. It doesn't help to enquire why, though, again, we are forgiven for doing this; it's actually normal and permissible to ask why, but it's not helpful.
If we can get past why, and we can go further into accepting what has become our present lot, we become empowered to find a way through. Not only that, but we also - in taking responsibility for our present lives - beyond blaming anyone else, especially God - find a miraculous strength that sponsors our way through.
Suddenly, having taken responsibility, we are graced with the serene joy that is indwelled with the purpose needed to get through each day. When we're flagging, endurance is all that matters.
Truly, wherever we are at it's the right place for us, just now.
It's also important to know that we can easily not accept where we are at and take responsibility for change. Positive change is blessed by God. Taking responsibility is crucial. And, of course, sometimes we simply must accept the consequences of our actions.
The strength of God is on our side when we abide to this truth: God is in total control of life, and of our lives. When we can trust in this truth we can accept we are right where we belong, just now.
It doesn't mean we don't belong somewhere else very soon.
***
Being empowered in every situation of life is as simple as accepting we are right where we belong. From there we accept or change - our choice. No matter what occurs, we can believe that God has good plan for our lives, and whatever we suffer just now has its purpose for what is already still coming. The best is yet to come.
